The short version
Averager does not require an account. We do not run our own servers for your trip data. Location and trips stay on your device. Purchases go through Apple.
Who we are
This policy covers Averager, an iOS app published by Shortcut Studios ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to this policy.
What the app collects and uses
Location
Averager uses your device's GPS to show current speed and to calculate average speed, distance, and trip duration while you track. If you allow background location, the app can keep updating your trip and Live Activity when it is not in the foreground. We do not send your location to Shortcut Studios servers.
Trip history
If you unlock Averager Pro, completed trips are saved on your device (date, duration, distance, average speed, max speed). You can export trips as a CSV file from the app. Trip data is not uploaded to us.
App settings
Preferences such as units (km/h or mph), target average speed, and appearance choices are stored locally on your device.
Purchases
Pro features are sold as a one-time in-app purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payment and provides us with purchase status so we can unlock features. We do not receive your payment card details.
What we do not do
- No account sign-up
- No ads
- No selling of personal data
- No third-party analytics SDKs in the app
- No Shortcut Studios cloud backup of your trips
Live Activity and widgets
When tracking, Averager can show trip stats in a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. That information comes from data already on your device and is handled by iOS.
Data retention and deletion
Trip history and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app (for example, Clear past trips) or remove the app. Uninstalling Averager removes locally stored app data from your device.
Children
Averager is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings. Without location, speed tracking will not work. You can restore or manage purchases through the App Store using your Apple ID.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
